10 Simple Ways To Fight Candida Naturally

10 Simple Ways To Fight Candida Naturally

19th Oct 2015

Candida, or Candida albicans, can be caused by a number of factors and can have a detrimental impact on your health. This blog post isn't so much to do with what Candida is, as I'm sure if you've come to this post you already know.

What you really want to know is how to naturally help your body to fight it. These steps are relatively inexpensive, sometimes free, and extremely easy to incorporate. We can't guarantee they will completely cure your Candida, but they are definitely allies you should consider incorporating into your diet.

1. Drink More Water

If you have already purchased a lot of supplements and find that they are not doing anything for you, this sometimes has less to do with the quality of the product, but more to do with whether or not you are drinking enough clean water regularly throughout the day for healthy cellular exchange, to cleanse the body from waste matter and to really keep things moving.

We need to drink clean, purified water slowly throughout the day. We usually drink at least 3-4 litres of water throughout the day, but work your way up to an amount which suits you.

Tip: We find that if you start drinking earlier on in the day, you are more likely to continue throughout

2. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar is an old folk remedy and an excellent tonic. Apple Cider vinegar has a regularising effect on digestion and is full of valuable enzymes which help absorption and fluid balance.

Ensure that the Apple Cider Vinegar you purchase is raw, unpasteurized and contains the 'mother'.

Tip: A good way to take Apple Cider Vinegar is to add 1-2 tablespoons to a glass of water first thing in the morning so you don't forget.

3. Swedish Bitters

This is one that you may not have heard of, but you should really stock up on it. Swedish Bitters should be in every household, and for good reason. It is excellent for digestion by keeping things in harmony. And again, it is relatively inexpensive,

It has been used across Europe for many years to promote health and well-being and our number one recommendation for sluggish digestion, a symptom a lot of individuals with candida suffer with.

Tip: Add 1 teaspoon to a glass of water after a meal to kick-start your digestive system.

4. Exercise

Yet another simple, free tip that a lot of people seem to ignore when it comes to candida.

If you are constantly stressed, and/or you are not actually moving your body and stimulating the lymphatic system, it is going to be near impossible to heal from candida, no matter what supplement/regime you take.

You should be doing some sort of exercise at least 3-4 times a week whether that is running, yoga or Qigong

We would also really recommended incorporating high intensity exercises into your regime, which work faster in a shorter period of time.

5. Trace Minerals

Whilst many worry about meeting their daily vitamin recommendation, they seem to forget about consuming foods rich in minerals. After all, our bodies are made up of 5% minerals and less than 1% vitamins.

Minerals work on so many levels within the body, both physically and mentally. We need to incorporate mineral rich foods, such as kelp, into our diets. Otherwise, try to add a bio-available, highly absorbable trace mineral supplement into your regime.

6. Get Yourself A Good Probiotic

Look to get a probiotic with at least 8-10 different strains of beneficial bacteria. Probiotics help to support your digestive system and restore the healthy balance of microflora in your intestines, which in turn help strengthen your immune system and overall health. A must in the fight against candida.

7. Add Healthy Fats

Coconut Oil and Extra Virgin Olive oil would be our recommendations. Both have anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties and do not seem to inhibit the balance of healthy intestinal flora.

Look to add 1-2 tablespoons of Coconut Oil and/or Olive Oil each day to foods.

8. Candida Fighting Teas

Teas like Pau D'Arco and Chamomile are excellent, with both possessing antifungal properties. Aim to drink 1-2 cups a day.

9. Add Healthy Spices

Add spices, like Ginger, Turmeric, Cinnamon and Cayenne Pepper to your foods and teas. Each has a soothing effect on the digestive system, aid circulation, cleanse the body of nasty toxins and strengthen the immune system. Plus, they are extremely easy to incorporate and relatively inexpensive too.

10. Raw Garlic

Garlic has been shown to inhibit the growth of Candida. To really reap the benefits of Garlic one needs to cut or crush raw garlic to stimulate the production of the beneficial compound allicin, and let it sit for 2 minutes before consuming.

A worry is, having garlic breath. You can take some fresh parsley with it, or only consume it in the evening before bed. That way, you're only offending those around you.... and vampires.
